Vasari Codex
The data map of the art world. Every aspect of it, connected - and then the tools to act on what you find.
Every incumbent owns one signal. Auction houses have prices. Fair platforms have listings. Exhibition databases have shows. None of them join up, so the question a professional actually asks - what does this artist’s museum record mean beside their auction results, and what changed this month - has never had one place to be answered.
Codex is that place. It holds the dataset nobody else tracks at scale, museum acquisitions, and connects it to auction results, exhibition histories, gallery representation, live listings for sale, prizes, schools, fairs, academic attention and daily news. Looking things up is free. A membership is for the work that depends on connecting it.
And then the other half
The map tells you what matters. The screen shows it to you.
This is the part no other art-data company has. Build a package from any works - your own, a gallery’s, a museum’s, an auction’s - and send it as one private link. Set it to expire when you choose, show prices or hide them. It opens on a phone or plays full screen on a television, and it never enters the public Vasari stream.

How do you work?
Every plan uses the same underlying data. Each door below opens the matching toolkit on Codex.
What a membership adds
Research, monitor, value, publish, and present.
Market data
Complete museum holdings and auction histories - prices, estimates, houses, dates, acquisitions - and an artist’s record year by year. Search, filter and compare without stopping at the overview.
Monitoring
Monitor the artists, galleries, museums, auction houses, fairs, exhibitions and cities that matter to you. New activity arrives as a periodic note on the cadence you choose - daily, weekly or monthly - and only when there is something to report.
vEstimate
Upload a caption card or enter a work’s details to generate an indicative value range from auction comparables and artist peer groups. Keep the result in your account.
Artist websites
Publish a standalone website from your Codex page - choose the sections and the visual style, take inquiries through a contact form, and connect your own domain.
Coming from vasari.pro?
Everything Vasari.Pro did for artists and galleries now lives in Codex, alongside the data. Your existing account still signs in.
For agents and developers
Codex has a public API and an MCP endpoint
Entity-scoped JSON over the same data, free to use, and an MCP endpoint so an AI agent can cite Codex directly.
